You can make your oven the most popular way of cooking anything in your house as long as you know how to season the meat just right. You can cook all types of meat such as fish, ham, and chicken and make them taste like you cooked them outside on the grill just by doing a few different things to your oven. These changes are so simple and easy anyone can do this making your oven a gourmet utensil for cooking. Fish boards can be used in the cooking of fish to give the fish a smoky texture and flavor it just depends on the type of wood you decide to use. If you use a hickory board, the flavor will taste like a hickory smoked fish; if you use a cherry wood board the fish will taste like cherry. Before you use the board of your choice make sure you soak the wood in water for at least 12 hours before you use it. Baking ham in the oven gives off a nice aroma that fills up the whole house and now you have to try to keep every one out of the kitchen so the ham in the oven can cook all of the way. The more people open the oven done, the longer it will take for the ham to get done. The best way to cook ham is on a low to moderate heat. Seasoning the ham before you cook it is easy and just a few simple steps. Make a base sauce for injecting the ham. This mixture is made of brown sugar, liquid smoke, water and garlic salt. Mix that all up and then inject it into the ham. Place pineapple over the top of the ham before you place it into the oven for baking but be sure to cover the ham with a lid or aluminum foil so not air can get in during the baking process. Chicken is cooked the same way as the ham except you do not have to add the brown sugar. By injecting the seasonings into the while it is cooking makes the flavor gets deeper into the meat and by covering the chicken, this insures that the chicken will fall right off of the bone when it is time for dinner. Every once in a while you get caught with nothing for supper and you do not have anything out ready to be cooked, so what do you do? Quick meals are good to plan and make a speedy family happy because their stomachs are full and ready to go to the soccer or football game or whatever you need to do. Quick meals are great but you also need to make sure that your family is getting the right amount of nutrients to supply your family with enough energy for the activity that you have planned. Quick meals are also called meals in a box such as Betty Crocker or hamburger helper, things like that. These meals are made to be made quickly for families on the go so not much time is needed to make the meals. To make this your own dish, just try adding some frozen vegetables when you are boiling the noodles and the sauce packet. The vegetables will add some vitamins to give a football or your favorite basketball player the energy to win the big game. Some other forms of quick meals are meals you can make in the car on the way to the sporting event of where ever you need to go instead of stopping at the nearest fast food restaurant. There are meals on the go such as lunchables made by Oscar Meyer that you can get that are basically a complete meal in one little box. These meals include a drink that you can either have a cool bottle of spring water or you can turn it into a kool-aid drink with the little packet that they include. You also get a dessert and a main course to fill you up and there are many choices you can choose from so there is something for everyone.
